Graded Unit

I chose Galliano’s Italian ice cream as my brief for this year’s graded unit. We were required to produce a logo, packaging and point of sale display that captured the background and history of the company while being aimed at a modern target audience. I chose to go for an older style of logo but with modern colouration and retro rays for my packaging design. The point of sale display is inspired by old vintage signage.

Digital Imaging

We were asked to chose two organisations with polarising views and create two solutions for each. I chose PETA and the International Fur Federation as my organisations as they both have strong viewpoints and opinions. I covered the model’s faces with flowers to give more of an aesthetic feel and create more interest within the poster overall.

Layout and Design

We were asked to select an organisation of our choosing to create promotional items whilst utilising the skills we had learnt from Art & Desktop Publishing & Layout. I created this brochure with the use of columns being one of my main focuses. Everything has been designed around these columns and this in turn creates an interesting composition with the images being off centre and sitting across both pages.

Typography

This brief asked us to produce a series of three posters using only typography and we could use either quotes or lyrics. I chose Billie Eilish songs as her style of music can be considered quite dark and mysterious and I was interested to see how I could convey that in my posters.
